Por motivos pessoais tenho andado afastada do blog. Não tenho podido actualizar com novas descbertas ou partilhas minhas do mundo musical.

Quero deixar a minha mensagem de Feliz Natal e desejar a todas as pessoas um BOM ANO NOVO cheio de tudo o que desejarem.

Esta música tem um particular significado para mim. Não a ouvi na companhia de alguém, mas faz-me lembrar de uma pessoa muitissimo especial para mim.

Como esta tarde foi uma tarde de recordar coisas boas, mas que me deixaram mais uma vez com saudades dessa pessoa e dos bons momentos... aqui fica a música para a compartilhar com quem a conhece e com quem a desconhece.

Big Runga - Parte I

Bic Runga nasceu a 13 de Janeiro de 1976, na Nova Zelândia, e é filha de um soldado maori e de uma cantora chinesa de cabaré. Os seus pais acabariam por se conhecer durante a Guerra do Vietname. E entretanto, acabariam por se mudar para a Nova Zelândia.

Bic cresceu em Christchurch rodeada de familiares vocacionados para a música e assim começou a gravar músicas com as suas irmãs Boh and Pearl, quando ela tinha apenas 4 anos de idade. A irmã mais velha é actualmente vocalista, na Nova Zelândia, de um grupo de rock, Stellar*.

Apesar do seu nome se escrever "Bic" pronuncia-se "Bec". E isto deve-se ao facto de se tratar de uma palavra chinesa sem tradução directa que significa "a cor de jade", que é susposto ser verde.

Possui três álbuns lançados:

• Drive, de 1997;

• Beautiful Collision, de 2002;

• Birds, de 2005.
